About Us

My wife, Dawn Murray, and myself, Tom Murray have always dreamed of owning a business together. We envisioned this amazing cafe run by the family but we never expected to be granted the wonderful opportunity to purchase a well established ice cream shop. B&R Dairy bar has been running in the amazing community of Gray, Maine since 1971 and has become a landmark in the town. We took over as the fourth owners of the dairy bar in June 2018. We have been part of the Gray-New Gloucester community since 2002 and have feel deeply in love with the quaint town and outgoing people.

I have been in customer service for 20 years now. My wife has also been in the food industry for over 20 years. With our extensive work experience, we knew running the dairy bar would be a challenge we could handle to maintain the same level of quality and service the previous owners established.

Our oldest daughter, Morgan, has worked at B&R Dairy Bar since 2014 and has been and huge part in helping us transition to ownership. Our youngest daughter, Meadow, started working when we took over the business and plans to follow in her sisters footsteps. My wife and I plan to keep everything the same as pervious owners have done. From homemade ice cream to the fresh baked brownies each day.

We continue to make ice cream 5-7 days a week right at the Dairy Bar. We also make brownies, Dilly Bars, Buster Bars, and giant Cookie Sandwiches daily. We also offer 24 flavor soft serve, low fat soft serve yogurt, and Italian ice. So if you love homemade ice cream, delicious soft serve flavors, and all sorts of yummy cold treats!
